Job Description

The Director of Leadership and Development is responsible for architecting and executing leadership development programs and processes to drive professional growth and accountability across the organization.Responsible for assessing company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives for leadership and career advancement, as well as for searching, designing, and implementing effective methods to educate and enhance performance and recognize performance of employees.


Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Provide support for leadership development programs.
  • Deliver leadership development courses and workshops in alignment with the agency’s goals.
  • Manage in-person and virtual leadership programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in leadership development.
  • Build common leadership and professional skills for all employees.
  • Assess, recommend, create, and implement leadership development programs, processes, tools, resources, and solutions and/or organization development interventions based on strategic or tactical business plans.
  • Develop and translate strategic goals into development and talent programs that balance the evolving priorities of the organization.
  • Design and implement evaluation processes for growth initiatives and company team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership and effective management of Goodwill staff to influence employee commitment to the organization, to the team, and to their job.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to devise strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter/content experts, business partners, and vendors to create and design new content, tools, and learning solutions to meet Goodwill’s leadership capabilities needs.
  • Utilize expert facilitation skills in conducting leadership and professional development programs for mid to senior levels across the organization.
  • Coordinate coaching and mentoring programs.
  • Coordinating with various departments to ensure holistic company participation.
  • Oversee development operations during implementation.


Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with both in-person and virtual training delivery systems.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Windows, and Outlook.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in the training and leadership development field is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Business Administration, or a related field required.Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Must be of excellent moral character and possess good leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving history and ability to pass criminal background check required.
