Job Description
The Position


After a long and successful career with the District, the current IT Director is retiring (early part of fall) this year. Therefore, the District has initiated this exciting opportunity/recruitment now, which should allow the new IT Director to onboard prior to the departure of the current incumbent. The goal is a seamless transition of this key role for the District. The successful candidate will join the District’s Executive Team which is comprised of the General Manager, General Counsel, and five other members (including the IT Director) who strive to promote and exemplify the District’s Guiding Principles. All Directors report to the General Manager and are employed consistent with their respective employment contracts (at-will). The IT Director is responsible for overseeing all operations and initiatives of the IT Department, consistent with the District’s business needs. The IT Director directs, leads, participates, and provides necessary support to ensure that the IT Department’s core services meet standards of excellence and customer service. It is essential that the new IT Director possess both strategic and organizational agility, including a strong understanding of modern IT systems, and that they be responsive to the ongoing technology needs of the District. Currently, the IT Department consist of seven skilled IT professionals and two limited term employees. IT staff operate and sustain a modern virtualized and increasingly mobile environment and IT services for approximately 230 District employees across five Departments. All IT staff report to the Headquarters campus located in Placerville to promote team collaboration and cohesiveness.

Education And Experience


The successful candidate will have eight years of increasing responsible experience in the information technology profession, including three years in a management capacity. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. Master’s degree may substitute for one year of the required professional experience.


Compensation And Benefits


Salary- $162, 426.38 - $197,430.28 Annually
