Our opportunity

We are currently seeking a HR Director in Phoenix, AZ. This position requires regular time in the office as we like to collaborate in-person together. In this role, you will work as part of a broader firm-wide Human Resources department of 20 and lead our combined team of HR Business Partners and HR Operations (10 team members in total).

You will be responsible for

As the HR Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to an HR Business Partnership team of 8 people including HR Managers, Generalists, and Coordinators in the US and the UK. Additionally, you will oversee a small HR Operations team, which includes Benefits and HRIS functions. Your role will be pivotal in driving the overall human resources strategy, ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management process, ensuring performance reviews, goal-setting, and development plans are conducted and followed up on effectively. Coach and mentor HR Business Partners and supervisors on effectively managing performance-related issues and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies. Oversee the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Leverage HRIS data to generate insightful analytics and reports, providing key stakeholders with data-driven insights for decision-making purposes. Track HR metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs in alignment with the organization's overall business objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and address HR-related challenges and opportunities. Provide guidance on workforce planning, talent development, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance and support to HR Business Partners and leaders on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with team members and leadership to evaluate compensation and benefits programs. Lead the team in administering these programs. Review and analyze market data to ensure the organization's total rewards structure remains competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Talent Development: Champion talent development initiatives, including training programs, leadership development, and succession planning. Work with practice leaders and HR Managers to identify high-potential employees and create personalized development plans.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Act as a key partner in the company’s DEI efforts, working with HR Business Partners to embed inclusive practices throughout the employee lifecycle. Partner with other leaders to implement strategies which foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.

You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire HR teammates to achieve organizational goals.
  • Employee Relations: Strong expertise in managing complex employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and investigations. Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in HR or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to align HR initiatives with overall business goals and provide strategic leadership to the HR team. Proven experience in driving cultural change and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to analyze complex HR issues, identify solutions, and implement effective strategies.
  • Change Management: Experience leading and facilitating organizational change initiatives with sensitivity and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative Approach: A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Talent Management: Track record of developing and implementing talent development programs, performance management systems, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Work Environment: Enthusiastic and able to work in the office a minimum of three days a week.
  • DEI Advocacy: A demonstrated history of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout an organization, and experience driving DEI initiatives.
  • HR Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience overseeing HR Business Partner function is required.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Proficiency in HR analytics and reporting, utilizing data to make informed decisions and measure the impact of HR programs.
