The Director of Clinical Training is responsible for leading the training strategy for Kooth Behavioral Health Services. Accountable for embedding a scalable training model for all Kooth Practitioners, including at induction as well as for ongoing professional development purposes. Acting as the liaison with external expert providers as appropriate and ensuring that the training offered is evidence and data driven and contributes to quality improvement initiatives across the service.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

Training

  • Leads on measuring the effectiveness of training, setting target metrics that demand high standards, and striving for continuous improvement in those metrics.
  • Works closely with the VP of Clinical Governance to consider opportunities for external training while strengthening the Kooth brand across a broad geographical area.
  • Leads on ensuring that the training policies and guidance documents are always up to date.
  • Works closely with the product and service delivery senior team to ensure that new developments are embedded within training.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the training program for Kooth Practitioners is fit for purpose and in line with local and national requirements.
  • Develops and embeds a training program to ensure a scalable approach.
  • Leads on developing innovative modes of training delivery to maximize engagement and impact.
  • Sources training from external partners as required and ensures that any third-party delivery is in line with the Kooth i-RESPOND model to ensure consistency.
  • Leads on the delivery of training within scope of experience and expertise and supports others to do the same.

Management & Leadership

  • Supports the HR function in confidential matters that may result from performance issues, including leading investigations.
  • Responsible for the overall leadership and management of the training function across North America.
  • Ensures that US practice is aligned with the wider Kooth framework and works closely with their UK counterpart to ensure that this is embedded.
  • Leads and builds a high performing training team and ensures they are delivering key strategic objectives.
  • Sets a tone of compassionate leadership, providing supportive challenges and demanding high standards are line with business expectations.
  • Works closely with the VP of Quality Assurance in setting the strategy for the team, in line with the wider clinical function and organizational priorities.

Analytics, Reporting & Insights

  • Supports the incident reporting framework relating to practice, including any investigations and root cause analysis plus reporting of ‘lessons learned’ as appropriate.
  • Prepares monthly reports for the VP and wider team to demonstrate team activity, trends, challenges and leads on improvement plans.
  • Uses data from a variety of sources to identify gaps in training needs and addresses through corrective action.

Stakeholder Management

  • Represents the company at industry conferences and meetings, building relationships with key stakeholders and uses expertise and experience to demonstrate the company’s commitment to excellence when it comes to training Kooth Practitioners.
  • Works closely with senior staff in the service delivery department as well with external partners as appropriate to ensure that the training program meets the appropriate needs and is open to discussing new ideas.
  • Leads on the provision of a timely response to data requests from local and national stakeholders as appropriate.

Behavioral Health

  • Ensures that the training program is fit for purpose and in line with regulatory and best practice frameworks.
  • Remains up to date with relevant evidence-based practice in the behavioral health domain, generally and within digital health specifically.
  • Ensures that team/departmental gaps in knowledge regarding behavioral health are identified and addressed in a timely manner to ensure that the training provided is comprehensive and up to date.
  • Ensures an appropriate level of governance and/or support for relevant teams where there is a training element relevant to service user activity, including product, content and service delivery.
  • Supports the training team specialists to conduct practice audits as appropriate to the role as part of the overall governance function with a particular focus on probation audits.

Risk Management

  • Supports team members (if within scope of role) to contribute to the on call provision, which may include being part of the on call rotation.
  • Contributes to the implementation of ‘lessons learned’ actions following risk incidents.
  • Remains up to date with relevant risk legislation across the organization, working closely with the Director of Risk to identify and address any gaps.
  • Support the risk team in embedding risk processes, including risk management, reporting and prevention through relevant training.
  • Supports the risk team in offering specialist risk advice within scope of role and as advised by the Director of Risk.
  • Ensures that policies relating to risk are disseminated as appropriate through induction training (and at other points as appropriate).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering training in a relevant field, ideally within a digital environment.
  • Master’s Degree or higher in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Mental Health, or Counseling.
  • Direct experience working within the youth behavioral health sector.
  • Clinical license in a related field preferred.


Travel Requirements: This role will require some travel to California and London.


Compensation:
$95,000-$110,000 based on experience
