Job Description
Center Point Energy is looking for a Director of Business Development to join our Team, located in Houston, TX.


You will have the ability to lead the daily joint use operations and activities of transmission tower PCS (Personal Communications Service) facilities, pole attachment, streetlight, and fiber business growth teams. This position will lead the business development team to optimize the existing and future assets of the company and support increased profitability through continuous process improvement, reduced cycle times, and maintaining strategic relationships internally and externally. The job requires highly evolved sales management skills and a highly organized individual who will drive continuous improvement efforts in automation, process consistency, and precise tracking of department KPI achievement.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will


  • Coordinate with IT to develop technological solutions to allow scalability and help remove human error from revenue development processes.
  • Develop and present quarterly forecasts which reflects evolving market conditions, such as acquisitions and competitive data.
  • Focus on speed-to-market relative to revenue-generating strategy, with a priority on contractor safety and electric service reliability.
  • Lead a high functioning team to strategically optimize the existing and future assets of the company.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the accuracy of the Real Estate Development tracking reports for all lease amendments.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships and collaborations with the external telecommunications organizations and internal operations, development, leasing, legal, asset management, information technology, and finance teams.
  • Manage all attachment work and lease amendments and execution processes once an amendment is executed.
  • Prepare analysis and plans for each PCS tower site incorporating all factors, including ground lease terms and potential lease up.
  • Analyze the current lease amendment/attachments, including those with no current tenants, to determine negotiation strategies, ensure compliance with contract obligations, and identify areas of growth opportunity.
  • Establish fiber and wireless portfolio dashboards to showcase recurring net revenue streams.


Your Background Includes


  • Requires a minimum of a four-year degree (BA/BS), preferably in business, legal, real estate, or another related field.
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years in business/sales and/or contract experience, preferably in real estate including leasing, utility operations, strategic partnerships and negotiations, or a related industry. Telecommunications experience strongly preferred.
