Job Description

We are looking for a talented Director of Benefits to join our esteemed client, a top retail company. Our client has built a reputation for being one of the most innovative companies in the industry, and they are looking for a candidate who is equally passionate and innovative to join their team.

As the Director of Benefits, you will be responsible for executing the benefit strategy and managing all aspects and activities pertaining to the design, development, implementation, and administration of the company's Compensation and Benefits programs. You will report to the VP, of Compensation and work collaboratively with Senior Management.


The successful candidate will be a well-versed benefits legislation and regulations and compensation best practices professional, with excellent leadership, communication, and relationship skills. In this role, you will bring innovative strategies and provide insight to Corporate Leadership, with a focus on employee consumerism and cost-effectiveness.


Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation and contracting with plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Manage, lead, and develop the Benefits team to ensure a positive and effective customer service experience.
  • Develop and implement wellness initiatives and activities to support a healthy employee culture.
  • Manage operating procedures for administration and enforcement of benefits, PTO/DTO, LOA/FMLA, and other policies.
  • Define, design, implement, and evaluate benefit programs and policies to maintain cost, quality, service, and process controls.
  • Lead set up and design of the benefits technology systems, providing guidance to corporate HR team to ensure support of internal business needs, integration with outside vendor links, and accessibility for end-users.
  • Bring innovative strategies and provide insight to Corporate Leadership, with a focus on employee consumerism and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead training and communication across HR teams and all internal employees to ensure benefits programs are understood and valued companywide.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations at the state and federal levels.


Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, and FMLA.
  • Experience managing 401k Investment Committee meetings and administering benefits plans for all acquisitions.
  • Strong data and cost analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • Exceptional leadership, relationship, and communication skills, with the ability to work with local and remote employees.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills.
  • 10 years' experience in benefits plans, with a demonstrated track record of success in plan design and administration.
  • Minimum 5+ years leading and developing a team.
