Job Description

Pearson Packaging Systems provides automated end-of-line packaging machinery and integrated systems to help prepare many of the most well-known brands in food and beverage, personal care and household and industrial chemicals for distribution to retail centers. Focused on the future of automation, we are heavily invested into robotics and other advanced technologies. With an east and west coast location, we unite the expertise of over 60 years of mechanical and 25 years of robotics projects accounting for over 20,000 deployed units.


We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Applications Engineering. In this position you will lead the applications engineering team and ensure that Pearson products are competitively priced, and the solutions developed will meet the customer operational needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and empower Applications Engineering organization and team strategies that support the direction and goals of the business.
  • Takes a lead role in managing and participating in critical customer problem resolution.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and communicates the processes, strategies and standards to Applications Engineering teams to ensure they are globally integrated.
  • Oversee the applications engineering team that provides technical/application clarifications, application engineering expertise and support to modify packaging solutions
  • Participates and leads pre sales support for product & system solutions ensuring Pearson is positioned to maximize market opportunity with minimal risk and maximum margin potential.
  • Manages, directly or indirectly, teams of employees that are dedicated to the Applications Engineering within Pearson business.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs and build teams to meet the business objectives. Develops employees through implementation of their personal development plans, goal setting and timely performance reviews. Develops metrics to ensure the proper training and appropriate certifications of personnel are being accomplished.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering with a minimum of (7) seven years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Excellent technical, verbal communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Sales on the pre-sale support of technical solutions
  • Travel requirement up to 20%
  • Demonstrate ability to accept responsibility and accountability of new and varied assignments.
