The Director of Security Services provides executive leadership and direction to the Security and Transportation Services Departments and shall be responsible for all aspects of operational duties and services provided by both departments. Plans, develops, recommends and implements systems, equipment, safety protocols and training programs that provide security/transportation of staff, service partners, show labor personnel, clients and guests with security standards, operating procedures and best practices. Consults with and advises the Vice President of Public Safety on security, safety and transportation, internal and external matters. Evaluates security systems, equipment and operations of Events DC venues and live events.

• Adopts a customer service philosophy and public relations approach to the performance of all duties with Security and Transportation Services staff
• Serve as a Resident and Community Liaison on security matters as needed
• Select and provide performance evaluation inclusive of disciplinary procedures for accountable staff.
• Serve as liaison with contract event security services and provides on-site direction
• Performs a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned by the Vice President of Public Safety
• Schedule and direct managers and supervisors in all assigned functional areas of responsibility
• RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and recommends appropriate annual operating budget for security and transportation operations

• 7-10 years of management experience in law enforcement and/or security field, with demonstrated responsibility for safety, traffic planning and control, within a large facility and live events with
• Three (3) to five (5) years supervisor/managerial experience
• QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Business or Public Administration, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or closely related field; and
