Job description

Role: Business Development lead for Space/SatCom


Team Overview


Aerospace and Defense (A&D) vertical of HCL is incubating projects with Space/SatCom customers (like Northrop Space, Boeing Space, Lockheed Space, Sierra Space, Virgin Galactic, NASA, Intelsat, Telesat, ViaSat etc), in the US in space and satcom industries. The Lead will be responsible for incubating and growing this market for HCL by selling HCL’s Engineering (Turnkey Product Design/Development and other core engineering services like SW EE ME etc) and Digital Services (Analytics, IoT, Cloud, AR/VR, MBSE, Digital Thread, Industry 4.0 etc.).


Job Overview


The person will be responsible for executing a strategy to establish HCLs solutions in the space and satcom primes. To achieve this, the individual will build on existing relationships to gain access for the team to show case HCL’s capabilities and gain understanding of the customers most important requirements and needs. The individual will work in collaboration with the Capability organizations, Delivery units, Other sales teams and Marketing to deliver the priorities, plans, insights, and customer direction. The primary focus is to align internal teams on the direction of customer expectation, key asks and opportunities. The lead has the additional responsibility for managing the regular business and revenue updates at the customer and engagement level.


Responsibilities

· Customer Relationships: Build strong customer relationships that allow easy access to customers and their needs and plans and ability to sale a value proposition

· Working in a matrix model: Work across sales, marketing, services, and other various organizations to identify, map and drive solution implementation.

· Collaboration: Deeply understand and collaborate with multiple teams in order to meet customer requirements.

· Communications: Communicate with multiple stakeholders to enable the teams to converge on business objectives

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and design Customer engagement strategies that accelerate solution readiness, meeting aggressive schedules.
  • Understanding and mapping customer requirements
  • Rate and create business cases for the readiness of emerging industry scenarios and technologies to be adopted.
  • Improve customer experience through simplification of solution presentation.
  • Business Development and customer engagement

Qualifications


  • Strategic & Tactical Planning
  • Strong industry network in the Space, SatCom market
  • Understanding of Core Engineering, Digital Technologies and Platforms, evaluation, product fitment,
  • Understanding of Model based system Engineering, Product Life cycle management, Industry 4.0 and Supply chain as related to Defense industry.
  • College degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of sales experience
  • Understanding of Space industry regulatory needs and security requirements to evaluate non-secure programs
  • Operations & Governance


Location/Travel: Anywhere in the US, with travel as needed


Geographic mobility – Flexibility to travel across the US as required and (occasionally on business need) across GEOs.
