Job Summary


The Director, Global Supply Strategic Product Lead has the end-to-end accountability, leading and managing the global supply of a product or set of products across a global network of manufacturing sites to ensure excellent customer service. This role is the single point of contact for the global supply of these products and is a key partner to commercial, demand planning and operations ensuring supply chain performance. As the key point of contact for a strategic product(s), the role will be key leader in a global S&OP process, managing exceptions to inventory, capacity, and cost, and presenting end to end analysis and options to drive approval of the plan.


The Director, Global Supply Strategic Product Lead will be instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with Commercial, Product Platform and Demand Planning teams as well as Operations Supply Planning teams. This role will be a critical link between commercial and operations leading & facilitating discussions and initiatives for their product(s).


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Strategic partner to Commercial, Product Management, Demand Planning and translates strategic supply plans into operational supply plans across a global network of manufacturing sites.
  • Key leader in the S&OP process who articulates the supply plan and network performance for endorsement, driving decisions via end-to-end analysis and scenario planning.
  • Participates in developing supply agreements for customers.
  • Support assessment of new business, sites, etc. and ensures the integration and transition of new products resulting from acquisition as appropriate.
  • Establishes product supply across the global network for product(s) within policy guidance and considering life cycle management, technical transfers, network optimizations and potential supply disruptions.
  • Supports Commercial with strategic information for customer interactions
  • Develops process and systems as required to manage and monitor the end-to-end supply chain for defined products.
  • Drive manufacturing sites regarding necessary adjustments to productions plans to accommodate any forecast changes and assure inventory alignment to strategies; develop measurement systems to track performance
  • Ensures available capacity for their scope of products both long and mid-term.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develop inventory strategies/models for complex global supply chain networks (make to stock, make to finish, make to order), gains alignment and implements recommendations
  • Drives and supports new product launches & other life-cycle programs such as cost reduction initiatives, network optimization and/or complexity reduction, technical transfers, site and/or sourcing selection. Assures phased production plans as appropriate and manages inventory conversions
  • Partners with relevant functions to develop risk/contingency strategies and plans for the supply chain network. Drives mitigation plans.
  • Leads and drives business process improvement strategies and/or initiatives across the supply chain network in coordination with Center of Excellence
  • Sets guidance for stocking and planning levels for the network and in alignment with financial goals.
  • Manages global crisis, supply disruption and/or allocation & monitors volumes
  • Coordinates the Strategic Plan and Budget Plan development and communication with the values streams


Basic Qualifications


  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with LRP/Strategic Planning, Budgeting, New Product Introduction
  • Bachelor’s degree with preference for Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance.
  • Minimum 10 years of supply chain experience; preference for global supply planning and/or site/ manufacturing experience
  • Solid understanding of supply planning principles and demonstrated ability to implement process and manage change.
  • ERP system knowledge with strong linkage of financial, material and supply flows.

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other regulated industry
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and corrective action solutions. Follows through on actions.
  • Strong soft skills including high emotional intelligence
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Is curious, agile, engages in new experiences and looks for different perspectives
  • Ability to resolve conflict and tension between P&L vs. Balance Sheet
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
  • Strong coordination and Project Management skills
  • High sense for the business; strong business acumen

  • Master’s Degree in SCM with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong capability to manage through influence and across functions
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking, global mindset; anticipates risks, can successfully navigate ambiguity


Travel Requirements


  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally
