What’s the Job?

The Demand Planning Coordinator supports the Demand Planning Manager through the sales forecasting and Customer Distribution Planning processes for the US Gypsum and Insulation businesses by gathering data for market, historical, and commercial market trends. This role is responsible for working closely with sales and marketing to gather real-time data for use in the sales forecasting process as well as support the day-to-day execution of the distribution planning process.


Additional duties and responsibilities include:


S&OP Data Consolidation (50%)

  • Populate the monthly demand process files using historic data, input from sales, market and economic indicators, and customer specific requirements.
  • Assist with the sales forecast model at product, channel, and customer levels
  • Monitor actuals compared to forecast plan and input data from plan at a territory and customer service level.
  • Analyze long term (6 to 12-month outlook) process for understanding potential increases/decreases in a territory forecast, including commercial job growth to support the S&OP process.
  • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies to find ways for better forecasting and more accurate business planning.
  • Track sales vs. forecast and budget to assist facilitating actions for obtaining business objectives through digital supply chain systems.
  • Measure forecast accuracy and bias to support forecast improvement
  • Assist in monthly reviews with sales territory managers and customer service reps to gather data for assisting in overall S&OP processes.
  • Ad hoc reporting as necessary to support decision making and agility in how we serve our customers while maintaining positive margins.
  • Gather and consolidate data for the monthly S&OP sales forecast process for the Gypsum US and Insulation businesses:



Customer Distribution Planning (50%)

  • Monitor compliance to plans and recommend adjustments for hitting sales initiatives and optimizing margins
  • Provide consistent and accurate information to customer service and sales to support a high level of service to our customers.
  • Ad hoc analysis as needed to plan for changing business conditions across the networks
  • Use continuous improvement methodologies to find ways for improving the process by making it more user friendly, creating greater visibility, defining an agile approach, and standardizing the process.
  • Work close with Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial data to ensure accurate decision making to optimize margins while balancing service to customers at the highest level.
  • Gather and consolidate data for the monthly customer distribution planning process for the Gypsum US and Insulation businesses:
  • Coordinate the Customer Distribution Planning processes for the US Gypsum and Insulation businesses supporting optimized margins in line with sales initiatives.

What do you bring?

  • Knowledge of SAP and in the areas of MRP, DRP and Forecasting
  • Results driven, flexible and open-minded.
  • 2-4 years of applied professional experience working in operations planning, marketing, material requirements planning, and/or forecast development.
  • Strong influencer with good written and oral communication skills, including online meeting management, in-person training and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Marketing or Logistics, or 2-4 years of equivalent training and experience that provides an understanding of planning principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of basic Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and other software used for managing large quantities of data and able to build reliable and repeatable processes to support business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct responsibility
