Description


The Director of Global Field Inventory leads and influences highly-matrixed teams in being accountable for assuring the overall inventory optimization of the Exactech portfolio. This includes responsibility for driving collaborative efforts and standards across business functions (Business Unit Leaders, Marketing, Sales and Operations) and participation in Business Unit (BU) inventory management to improve cash flow, including but not limited to the reduction of under-performing instruments and implants.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop training processes of US agents and Global Offices on inventory management policies
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Operations leaders to develop and execute mitigation plans to drive continuous improvements required to exceed plan and to create integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics).
  • Practice leadership as stated in the Exactech Leadership Model
  • Provide leadership to include effective feedback on culture, results and future, coaching and mentoring, performance management and career development
  • Coordinate and support Sales Operations on inventory working capital balance sheet targets.
  • Serving as owner for all global consignment inventory related processes
  • Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary
  • Recommend and assist on implementation of plans to manage field consignment inventory to maximize inventory investment and promote a high level of customer service.
  • Collaborating with cross functional auditing team to ensure financial accounting requirements are met
  • Maintain an accurate Global consignment inventory control system for implant and instrument inventory by developing and managing programs, policies, procedures, and all efforts associated with global consignment field inventory control and data accuracy.
  • Develop and coordinate inventory management policies and procedures with Global Sales team and sales management including:
  • Expected vs. actual sales by location
  • Serve as key member of Inventory Management team with focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated inventory management plan to optimize cash flow performance.
  • Assure compliance to the code of ethics
  • Inventory by type- slow moving, new products, etc,
  • Set turns
  • Changes to inventories in the last 12 to 24 months
  • Drive innovative best practices with key stakeholders to advise and support Field Inventory strategies, programs and technologies.
  • Lead the consolidation of product retrieval processes including reports/statistics showing inventory rationalization in units and dollars and report results to Sales Management, Supply Chain and Business Unit Teams
  • Lead the team to develop annual, quarterly and monthly schedule for inventory and retrieval based on prioritization per Inventory Management Strategies.
  • Auditing inventory files and reconciliation efforts
  • Responsible for appropriate operational budget.
  • Responsible for hiring and terminations within the department as required
  • Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards.
  • Partner closely with commercial and operational leaders to define optimal field stocking strategies (type and level of service required) and tools to use globally.
  • Ensure organizational alignment in the design and execution of initiative efforts
  • Leads the Inventory Field Support team to provide surgical support for back-ordered implants/instruments.
  • Develop data driven deployment and allocation plan based on close collaboration with Regional Sales Management (Global) and Commercial Directors
  • Establishes clearly defined individual goals
  • Direct and make accessible to key stake holders the key performance indicators for global inventory at and functional team levels including:
  • Drive the usage of current and development inputs to future inventory systems (i.e. Business Objects, ExactechOne Inventory) to assist in the management and analysis of worldwide inventories.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited institution required.


Experience:


  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience inventory management/customer service with a focus on orthopedic total joint replacement preferred
  • Experience in data analysis, metrics, reporting and process improvement planning


Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:


  • Proficient with MFG Pro or related ERP/MRP system
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to demonstrate problem solving
  • Detail oriented; superior organizational and record keeping skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software suite
