Job Description
Job Summary


This role serves as a business partner between internal accounting and property management teams (“Business Partners”) and external Board of Directors (“Clients”) for associations that we serve. The Director of Financial Services is a client relations role, responsible for strategic and quality oversight of a variety of financial deliverables across a portfolio of associations across Florida. This function is at all times guided by precedent and responsible for working within the limits of established policy.]\


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Work with regional Business Partners, Executives and Clients on financial and accounting related issues. Identify possible issues, inconsistencies, and suggest appropriate corrective strategies and procedures.
  • Cultivate professional relationships that foster a sense of trust and collaboration with Business Partners and Clients to ensure service expectations are met and accounting related questions are addressed timely and accurately.
  • Work with developers on association turnovers and ensure laws and regulations are followed and finances are transferred appropriately.
  • Conduct training with internal Business Partners on matters relating to financial statement reviews, invoice processing, budget preparation and budget tool, lockbox processes and set-ups, etc.
  • Create ad-hoc reporting as necessary to meet client demands.
  • Proactively reviews balance sheet accounts for timely resolution of outstanding items and drives necessary accountability.
  • Attending a wide variety of meetings and workshops. Play an active role in presenting information and leading discussions around process improvement and error resolution.
  • Support the financial start-up process of taking on new accounts including reviewing, collaborating, and offering guidance to Business Partners on how revenue and expenses should flow, how it ties to operational procedures, banking, and systems infrastructure to ensure seamless transition and exceed client expectations from day one.
  • From time-to-time, perform financial statement reviews with high valued Clients.
  • Assist Upper Management with related projects, presentations, reports or assignments as requested.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in rules, statutes or regulations and communicate changes to proper parties.
  • Provide strategic and quality oversight of a variety of financial deliverables for existing accounts under management including but not limited to offering guidance on ad-hoc reporting, financial analytics, and
  • Coordinate with and assist the appropriate Business partners resolve issues.

  • Conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines, which may not be within normal business hours.
  • Notify supervision of operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform or assist Business Partners as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.


Supervisory Responsibility


Supervise direct report(s).


Education & Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business or related field from an accredited college or university, and five to seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience. Three or more years managing and developing a team. Property Management and/or wealth management experience preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies


  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently. Must be self-driven with the ability to identify, plan and prioritize business opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Proficiency researching the Internet.
  • Strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting.
  • Excellent organization, motivation, leadership, management, and interpersonal skills


Tools & Equipment Used


Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.


Physical Requirements/Working Environment


This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit and walk. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
