What You’ll Do


As the Director, Demand Planning you will be responsible for leading the consensus forecasting process at KIND by partnering with key cross-functional partners to create dynamic demand plans designed to enable the organization to deliver sales, service and inventory objectives as well as lead and develop a demand planning team. And this is how you'll do it...


  • Partner with finance to support appropriate linkage between the monthly consensus Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Gross sales forecast and financial Net sales forecasts
  • Leverage sources of Point of Sales (POS) data (IRI, Retail Link, etc) to diagnose consumer trends and inform future demand forecast
  • Lead the monthly consensus forecast review meeting with cross functional partners to discuss changes to assumptions or statistical baselines and align on recommended 12-18-month demand plan
  • Partner closely with Supply Planning to ensure that there is confidence and clarity about the demand plan and ensure that key forecast decisions are being made with the appropriate amount of lead time to ensure successful execution of supply
  • Lead a team of four demand planners; Establish clear performance expectations and ensure that their performance plans meet organizational objectives
  • Lead monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Step 2 meeting (Demand Review) to gain alignment with KIND senior leadership team on recommended consensus 12-18-month demand plan
  • Manage advanced planning system to drive improved accuracy of SKU level statistical base forecasts
  • Drive continuous capability building within the Demand Planning team as part of a talent development program to develop future leaders of the business.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance to gather forecast inputs from across the business, including base business trends, promotional plans, new launch volumes, distribution changes, risks/opportunities and seasonal volume to develop accurate demand forecasts for all SKUs in the KIND business
  • Update, monitor and report on key performance indicators (forecast accuracy and bias) identifying areas of opportunity and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with critical cross functional partners including sales, marketing, finance, supply chain and IT

You have…


  • Ability to work/communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Experience working within an Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or S&OP environment
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop staff to improve performance and achieve professional goals
  • Develops collaborative and diverse relationships
  • Ability to understand, assess & problem solve
  • 7+ years of demand planning experience within GPG / FMCG, 4+ years of people management experience
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of critical business tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • High customer focus with an ability to drive for results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tier 1 ERP systems (preferably JDE) and Tier 1 Planning systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field (e.g., business, supply chain, etc)


Pluses


  • APICS Certification
  • Prior sales, marketing or other supply chain experience


The salary range for this role is $140,000 - 180,000 per year. Please state your salary expectations in your application. KIND intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the total rewards that KIND provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
