We’re looking for an amazing Director, Community Relations to fill this role, which is based in our Fort Lauderdale office. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives to strengthen community relations, and effectively manage the brand’s public image directly with guests and crew in the event of crises. You will lead dedicated professionals and collaborate with various departments to ensure our communication efforts align with our brand values and business objectives. Your role encompasses a combination of responsibilities related to managing community relations for the brand in key homeports and other strategic port locations, helping to manage the company's public image through effective communication strategies and driving community engagement, as well as providing information to guests and crew when there are critical voyage developments.

Here’s a summary of what Princess is looking for in its Director, Community Relations. Is this you?

Responsibilities

  • Build a network of internal volunteers and identify appropriate engagements to drive meaningful teammate opportunities to engage with the community.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, non-profit entities, and other stakeholders to promote the brand’s values and contributions to local economies.
  • Responsible for community relations focused on building partnerships within the community and identifying and supporting initiatives that create a positive brand image.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for crisis communications for guests and crew, developing effective messaging to help manage these situations
  • Develop and execute a plan to promote the brand’s sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities to leverage positive developments to promote a positive brand image, including ship tours and supporting broader corporate requests.
  • Oversee the execution of corporate social responsibility initiatives, including philanthropic activities, volunteer programs, and sustainability efforts.


Requirements

  • Crisis management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 10+ years experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field, preferably in the travel, hospitality, or cruise industry.
  • Must be able to travel 25-50%
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful public relations strategies and campaigns.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, trends, and best practices in both family assistance services and public relations.
  • Proficiency in communications.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in public relations and reputation management.
  • Strong leadership and managerial abilities to effectively oversee a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for various audiences.

  • Base Salary Range: $ 119,900.00 to $ 161,800.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
