SUMMARY
Develop selling strategies and tactics across Pella digital channels to provide the best digital customer experience while driving sales through strategic site merchandising, optimizing internal search and product recommendations, and analyzing customer data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ECOMMERCE MERCHANDISER. Other duties may be assigned.
All Levels
- Stay current with Ecommerce, market and industry trends
- Identify cross-selling/up-selling opportunities
- Work as part of the overall e-commerce team to evolve the sales strategy and ensure channel growth
- Responsible for maintaining Pella's e-commerce product catalog
- Partner with digital team to provide a seamless digital experience with a focus on optimal linking strategies and SEO keyword opportunities
- Responsible for collaborating with product and marketing partners to develop and prioritize browse and search experiences and category initiatives to best drive sales and conversion
- Understand best practices in SEO to identify and conduct keyword research to monitor and optimize key terms and linking strategies to increase organic ranking channel
- Enhance customer experience by maintaining clean data to support search and browse paths
- Execute setup of promotional discounting
- Plan and maintain promotional event exposure in line with company marketing calendars to drive YOY sales
- Owner of product data integrity and attribution. Assign all attributes to create product matrix refinements and keep refinements organized through continuous data clean-up
Associate Level
- Document competitors' merchandising and promotional strategies
Coordinator Level
- Recap key events and initiatives
- Understand internal search data with specific focus on unproductive and failed searches to identify merchandising opportunities
- Research competitors' merchandising and promotional strategies
Specialist Level
- Research competitors' merchandising and promotional strategies in order to identify and apply learnings to our own strategies
- Analyze internal search data with specific focus on unproductive and failed searches to identify merchandising opportunities, product opportunities and issues within search relevancy
- Recap key events and provide future recommendations, new strategies and initiatives
- Research the influence of marketing channels and understand the impact external drivers (browse, search & recs.) have on a category of business
- Identify testing opportunities and assist in the execution of tests while partnering with the Pella team
- Manipulate search results through redirects, thesaurus entries and sort order strategies to maintain the best customer experience
Strategist Level
- Research competitors' merchandising and promotional strategies in order to identify and apply learnings to our own strategies
- Analyze internal search data with specific focus on unproductive and failed searches to identify merchandising opportunities, product opportunities and issues within search relevancy
- Optimize search results through redirects, thesaurus entries and sort order strategies to maintain the best customer experience
- Define and report out KPI results related to product updates
- Recap key events and provide future recommendations, new strategies and initiatives
- Analyze the customer behavior using internal reporting to optimize all devices and product finding methods (browse, search & recs.) Research the influence of marketing channels and understand the impact these external drivers have on a category of business
- Research, test, monitor, maintain, and analyze recommendations via the monetate
- Identify and own testing opportunities and assist in the execution of tests while partnering with the Pella team
- Collaborate with Product Managers to identify unique sales opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
All Levels
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university.
Associate Level
- Background working directly with products and/or customers
- No experience required
Coordinator Level
- 2+ years of experience working in the Web, Digital, Content, E-Commerce, or IT space
- Experience of retail or Ecommerce background working directly with products and/or customers
Specialist Level
- 3+ years of experience working in the Web, Digital, Content, E-Commerce, or IT space
- History of success working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects with attention to detail
- Working directly with leading web analytics and web merchandising tools
- Strong retail or Ecommerce background working directly with products and/or customers
- History of effective execution of successful business enhancements, from conception to delivery
Strategist Level
- 5+ years of experience working in the Web, Digital, Content, E-Commerce, or IT space
- Strong Ecommerce background working directly with products and/or customers
- History of effective execution of successful business enhancements, from conception to delivery
- History of success working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects with attention to detail
- Owning/ managing web analytics and web merchandising tools
TRAVEL
The position will require 5% travel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
