About this position:
The Development Officer - Philanthropy maintains and actively grows a portfolio of major donors; communicates personally with donors about areas of interest and the Planned Parenthood case for support; solicits gifts or pledged bequests from major donors; and thanks donors in thoughtful, creative ways; develops individualized cultivation plans for all donors in portfolio, works with other development team members to actively move donors up into this major donor portfolio, and identifies and cultivates other prospective networks/groups in the assigned state or area.
Compensation: PPGNHAIK's compensation philosophy is based in equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate direct applicable experience and internal equity within the paygrade. The pay range is $78,164 - $145,163.
This role is hybrid/remote but must be located in the Western WA area. Our administrative offices are located in downtown Seattle. Travel may be necessary for team meetings, potential donors, etc.
What you’ll be doing:

• Conducts prospect research as needed.
• Prepares written materials, including volunteer correspondence, major donor proposals or planned giving proposals.
• Solicits current and prospective major donors.
• Maintains job knowledge by attending meetings and trainings as required.
• Develops strategies to ensure the effective and timely cultivation and solicitation of major gifts and/or planned giving activity.
• Works with other members of the Development team to ensure accurate donor records, pledged bequests, and gift acknowledgement procedures.
• Works cooperatively and collaboratively with regional volunteers and staff.
• Tracks moves management and solicitation in department database.
• Coordinates and organizes special stewardship events by identifying potential guests; developing announcements and invitations; making and coordinating arrangements; preparing talking points for speakers; and supervising activities.
• Cultivate and steward assigned donor portfolio in accordance with established team standards and metrics.
• Assumes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
• Serves as effective spokesperson of Planned Parenthood by establishing knowledge on current local and national issues related to the mission.
• Keeps top prospects informed, interested, and involved.
• Utilizes senior staff and board members or other volunteers in major donor activities as appropriate, including assigning thank-you calls and preparing talking points on PP news.

You’ll need to have:
Education: BA/BS in related field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of four years fundraising experience, including some major donor cultivation and solicitation.
Certification: CFRE preferred.
Proof of completed COVID-19 Vaccinations and Proof of recent Influenza Vaccine is required prior to starting employment with PPGNHAIK.
