Who we're looking for
Toyota Financial Services Data Engineering Team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated DataOps Engineer, Lead - Test Data Management.
The primary responsibility of this role is to modernize and implement DevOps methodologies with the goal of fully shifting from a hybrid on-premises and cloud organization today to a fully cloud-centric organization with DevSecOps, data ops, automated delivery via CICD, Test Data Management and automated preventive controls.
Reporting to the National Manager, DevOps Engineering, the person in this role will support the Data and Analytics (DnA) Department's objective to ensure safe and reliable software deployments and measuring application service performance, Test Data Management (TDM) and availability using Infrastructure-as-Code, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Pipelines to handle the full application lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
- Leads the analysis of test data requests and automation of test data.
- Work closely with platform teams to integrate tooling into existing pipelines.
- Engage with the Data Engineering team to transform our disparate delivery models into a refined operating model that implements the best of data ops.
- Drive the process and approach our Data Engineering team use to document sensitive, protected, and shared data to ensure compliance with appropriate information and data governance policies (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, etc.).
- Develop tools and frameworks to codify DevSecOps, DevOps, and data ops best practices for development teams, including test automation.
- Partnering with Risk Management and Security teams to identify the standards and lead the measurement of and deployment of secured and compliant cloud infrastructure and services.
- Deliver strategic roadmap for TDM and supporting the execution of Enterprise TDM strategy.
- Drive adoption and alignment of DevOps and cloud engineering practices across the Data Engineering team.
- Defining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Runbook for troubleshooting production issues; developing software operations resilience patterns for deployed software infrastructure and implementing highly available and resilient software systems.
- Development of tools and frameworks to codify development best practices across the data engineering organization.
- Collaborates with application SMEs and project teams in respective application areas to understand and leverage current processes; address gaps where additional transformation may be needed.
- Performing site reliability engineering development efforts to improve availability and performance of software systems (debugging, triaging, and identifying root cause for failure in a production environment and performing postmortem analysis).
- Manage day-to-day support activities, including L3, releases, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaborate closely with enterprise cloud engineering teams to unlock infrastructure for our Data Engineering teams while ensuring well-managed practices.
- Creates and validates test data within the TDM framework for all phases of testing.
What you bring
- Test Data Management Implementation experience.
- Experience with distributed computing technologies, such as EMR, Spark, EKS, and ECS.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with serverless computing including Lambdas.
- Site Reliability Engineering (debugging, triaging, and identifying root cause for failure in a production environment and performing postmortem analysis; developing software configuration management implementations using declarative infrastructure as code.
- Working experience with cloud technologies.
- Strong background in Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies, implementation, and management.
- Experience with transforming from traditional support models to a modern DevOps organization.
- DevOps experience developing tools and frameworks to codify DevSecOps, DevOps, and data ops best practices for development teams, including test automation.
Added bonus if you have
- Exposure to big data concepts (Hadoop, Cloudera, Hortonworks, etc.) and BDE and AWS environments.
- AWS Solution Architect.
- Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse Technologies like SnowFlake, Amazon Redshift, etc.
- Experience with leading and developing a team.
- Experience with delivering infrastructure as code.
- Experience with code based ETL delivery and design using Python, Scala, or a similar language.
