Data Engineer, Business Solutions Summer Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:

Audax is looking for a dynamic, motivated Data Engineer Intern to join the Business Solutions team. This position will be responsible for supporting the company's Senior Data Engineer with hands-on experience in data engineering, data governance, and data management. The intern will collaborate with the data team design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ensure data quality and integrity, and contribute to the expansion of the company's data warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designing, implementing, maintaining and scaling the Audax data ecosystem

• Provide data validation and data quality assessments. Identifying and resolving data anomalies.
• Assist with implementation of data governance policies, including data cataloging and data lineage.
• Play an integral role in designing ETL processes and analytic pipeline for investment professionals.
• Work with professionals to scale their data infrastructure within the company's cloud enterprise data warehouse.

Technology Competencies

• Proficient in SQL. Familiarity in Python or Java a plus.
• Experience designing and implementing optimal data schemas.
• Familiarity in on-premise and cloud-based databases.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience taking large data sets, and cleaning/distilling these datasets.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or another related field.
• Experience with Alteryx and it's advanced capabilities a plus.
• Prior internship experience in related field is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with python a plus
• Ability to interact in an efficient and meaningful way with all levels of the organization required.
