Job Title:Data Architect

Reports to:Director – Underwriting Platforms, Beat Capital Partners Americas

Key Responsibilities:

• Help develop and monitor KPIs relating to above.
• Planning all changes including sprints for code deployment
• Identify any new opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace and represent data as a strategic business asset.
• Establish and maintain regular communications with the firm's business leaders, and end users, proactively assisting in the direction for future projects and programs of work.
• Provide highly technical guidance working with existing technology systems and in identifying and implementing new technologies that assist the Underwriting, Leadership teams and business partners in reporting accurate metrics related to Underwriting revenue, profit, accounting and cash allocation.
• Implementation, development and maintenance of all applications including coordination with data warehouse, ensuring a robust and effective control framework exists.
• Though this role is based in Charlotte, NC, this team member will be expected to liaise with Data counterparts in London, UK as a holistic reporting approach is built across businesses.
• Occasional UI/UX work on the front end including forms, coverage selections, and policy structure.
• Provide progress reports and oversee periodic updates to the data roadmap.
• Within Commercial Insurance space: Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data engineering pipelines.
• Construct and run scripts to add efficiency to regular business processes.

Competencies:

• Strong understanding of Commercial Insurance fundamentals (clearance, quoting, reporting exposures and consolidating underwriting outputs)
• Considers all downstream impacts of any changes and developments.
• Expertise in building Underwriting dashboards in Power BI.
• Ability to build secure and scalable architectures capable of ingesting and operating on very large sets of data.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Good communication skills to develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, building trust/credibility in both the US and UK.
• Proficient knowledge of databases, Sharepoint, SQL, and data modeling.
• 2-5 years of work as a data technician/engineer, with part of that experience working with a P&C insurance data science practice (carrier, MGA, broker).
• Good level of development skills especially in SQL.

Target Salary: $90,000 USD
