Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Data Operations, the incumbent in this position supports all performance improvement efforts. Responsibilities include accessing and collecting, organizing, displaying, analyzing, validating, formatting, and presenting data for the purposes of utilization management, revenue optimization, and quality improvement. They prepare reports and or presentation materials in the final form within specified time frames.
The incumbent also works collaboratively with peers and leadership in order to determine business requirements and analyze reporting needs. This includes active participation in selected teams.
Job Responsibilities:
1) The data analyst is responsible for accurately managing data, including data collection from multiple sources. Integrate data captured into the operational workflow. These sources include internal and external data sources and benchmarking sources.
2) Accesses, collects, organizes, displays, analyzes, validates, formats, and presents data for the purposes of utilization management and revenue optimization in a format that is meaningful to the intended customers. This includes accurately and appropriately understanding and summarizing data using metrics common to the industry.
3) Produces multiple useful and insightful report types for a variety of purposes related to quality reporting and demographic analysis as requested by administrative leaders. This includes generating various reports such as standard, ad hoc, and complex reports using office productivity software.
4) Communicates effectively with all levels of leadership regarding requirements necessary to complete reports and provide a summary of data.
5) Works collaboratively to maintain provider information and patient data flow.
6) Manages multiple projects, meets time constraints and expectations.
7) Coordinates and compiles the data for providers, often requiring collaboration with
departments throughout Baycare, including clinical managers, physicians, and appointment schedulers within medical practices, and appointment schedulers.
8) Adhere to industry reporting standards and standards for quality control.
9) Developing strategic plans for data analysis to include a strategy to achieve agreed targets and effective planning.
10) Manage and carry out analysis of agreed data while complying with financial and legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations
11) Preparing reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
12) Performs other duties as directed.
Minimally Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Required Work Experience:
3-5 years in healthcare related field
Preferred Work Experience:
SQL Server & Snowflake Platform
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of data collection, display, and analysis, as well as business and dashboard metrics.
Ability to understand schedule optimization and clinical utilization, provider utilization, and analyze capacity.
Must be organized and demonstrate superior communication and customer service skills. Is adaptable to changes in requirements of role and reports as related to the evolution of healthcare including healthcare reform.
Ability to work well independently and as a team member.
Excellent writing skills; experience in data analysis and an assiduous attention to detail.
Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (JavaScript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases
Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzing
Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau and Power BI
