Position Summary

The Maintenance Operations Analyst role is responsible for data collection and analyzes the data to identify critical trends and insights related to Technical Operations performance. The Analyst will also analyze enterprise data that is correlated to performance metrics and maintain a database ensuring data quality is available for researching problems and identifying Key Performance Indicators.

The Analyst will work closely with multiple departments (ie. Data Science, Engineering, Planning, Maintenance Operations, System Operations, IT Business Intelligence, Network Planning, Routing, Quality Assurance) across the network to support Technical Operations initiatives and prepare reports, dashboards for leadership and department stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

• Reviews engineering reliability reports and identifies trends that can be improved through assigning maintenance tasks to specific aircraft, training, and/or process changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Supports and collaborates with Technical Operations Engineering, Fleet Managers, System Operations, IT Business Intelligence, Maintenance and Material Managers, Maintenance Planners, Data Analytics teams and Business Partners for improving Tech Ops performance through data driven decisions.
• Runs regular and ad-hoc reports as directed by Maintenance Operations leadership.
• Builds presentations showing operational and savings metrics, as well as progress on key initiatives.
• Works with IT to develop dashboards and track Key Performance Indicators.
• Tracks Minimum Equipment List performance on all aircraft and reports out on trends that affects technical dispatch reliability.
• Collects, analyzes, and presents data to support operational improvements and cost savings.
• Analyzes enterprise reports and works with the Operational Analysis team to improve the data collection process for Technical Operations reporting.
• Coordinates with JetBlue Engineering and Technical Operations management in technical reviews and provides recommendations to improve operational performance.
• Identifies opportunities to optimize the maintenance operation including minimizing the time to correct defects and return aircraft to service, minimize repeat defects on the same aircraft, and help allocate resources such as manpower, training, tooling, parts, and hangar space, while controlling cost.

Minimum Experience And Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to comprehend maintenance manuals and technical publications
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
• Strong interest in aviation with commitment to grow their aircraft knowledge
• Distinct problem solving and analytical skills combined with business judgement
• One (1) year of analytical or related experience or one (1) year academic coursework in Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Material Operations, Component and/or Engine Repair or Engineering design projects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or related field; OR a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe Technician Certificate or FAA Powerplant Technician Certificate with demonstrated ability to apply statistical analysis techniques to data
• Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Preferred Experience And Qualifications

• Proficiency in reporting using JetBlue’s Maintenance & Engineering system (TRAX)
• Financial modeling experience
• Familiar with aircraft technical documentation
• Statistical analysis knowledge and ability to quickly learn data analysis tools, such as Airbus Skywise, Tableau, and other database driven platforms
• General knowledge of aircraft, engines, and components
• Two (2) years of experience in/with Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Material Operations, Component and/or Engine Repair or related field

• Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $89,600.00 per year.
