Data Analyst Intern - Tissue Culture Lab Research

Responsibilities

• Review statistical output for validity, reliability and accuracy
• Communicate progress and challenges with members of the TC Lab research Team and management
• Present findings and provide recommendations through detailed documentation, visualization and summarized reports
• Analyze data using statistical or mathematical software to generate descriptive statistics and develop statistical models and graphics
• Manage, reformat, enter, edit, merge and maintain data in preparation for analysis
• Assist the different TC Lab programs in day-to-day activities such as data collection, plant initiation/propagation, cryo-preservation, bio-reactors
• Transfer data among different formats for analysis purposes

Candidate Profile

Requirements

• Experience using image processing software, data analytics and data visualization, such as; Image J, Phyton and R, JMP, AI and SAS
• Knowledge of experimental design
• Understand scientific method
• Must currently be a Senior in a 4-year college or recent graduate with Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Plant phenomics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar quantitative field
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Have good communication skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Self-starter and able to work both independently and in a Team environment

Preferred Qualifications & Leadership Competencies

• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
• California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program.
• Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required
