Responsibilities

• Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in learning new technologies quickly, maximizing the potential of any new technology, and thinking critically about the needs of the warfighters
• Responsible for developing cybersecurity software for the US Navy.
• This position utilizes a Linux environment to execute high-level language development using Java, C++, and Python, as well as operating-system/Infrastructure-as-Code development such as Kickstart files, Ansible, and Bash.
• This team is responsible for software development and integration of systems supporting the cybersecurity posture of the US Navy.

Qualifications

• Software development experience using Java (JAVAFX), Spring, C/C++, Python, and other languages in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
• Desired Skills
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including configuration management, good coding practices, and experience in writing, testing, and deploying production-quality software
• Knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies
• Basic knowledge of networking in Linux
• Knowledge of Docker/Podman containers
• Experience with open-source software and custom software, as well as integration between software applications using middle tier integration and data-driven models
• Knowledge and experience using virtual machine platforms
• Possess a trained eye for detail, will be reliable, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of and experience using Linux (basic OS comprehension and basic shell scripting), preferably Red Hat or derivatives
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
• BS in Computer Science or similar degree
• Distributed, system-of-system experience
• Analytical and innovative outlook on software and systems
• Technical problem-solving ability for large and complex software systems
• Knowledge of data-driven software application
• Knowledge of containerization technologies on Linux OS (Docker, Podman, k8s, RKE2)
