Entry-Level Environmental Analyst Jobs

The Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) seeks a bright, motivated entry-level individual to join a multi-disciplinary team supporting a range of environmental analysis and data projects. Our clients include federal, state, and local government agencies. Recent and ongoing projects include reports on national and international releases of toxic pollutants, quantitative analyses supporting the development of environmental regulations, and research for and development of a data exploration tool for per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

A successful candidate will be curious, creative, and excited to tackle projects from a data-driven perspective.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Using statistical software to analyze data and characterize trends
• Documenting methodologies
• Generating tables, maps, and graphs to convey results
• Researching various scientific and technical topics
• Accessing and retrieving data from environmental and other databases
• Conveying results to diverse audiences in writing

Job location is flexible, with preference for ability to, on occasion, be in our offices in the greater Boston or Washington, D.C. areas.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Ability to take initiative and manage and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks
• Applied experience with qualitative and quantitative research activities in an academic or professional setting
• 0 – 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel)
• Knowledge of emerging environmental issues, environmental justice, and U.S., state, and local environmental regulations is a plus

The salary for this position ranges from $52,000 to $57,000, depending on years and type of experience.
