Role synopsis


The Gas & Power Trading Americas (GPTA) Strategy Implementation & Modernization (SIM) team maximizes efficiencies, enables teams to help customers and uses data to drive improvement efforts across the business.


The Customer Engagement Analyst is responsible for pre- and post-transaction customer engagement activities. They deliver high-quality marketing engagement, measure those activities and champion the digital transformation of the business. The Customer Engagement Analyst approaches their work with an emphasis on digital safety.


Key Accountabilities


  • Collaborate with a wide variety of collaborators to coordinate marketing activities and identify projects that deliver value to the business; support a center of excellence for customer engagement.
  • Following group branding and compliance requirements, deliver strategic marketing campaigns, manage content and gather critical metrics for reporting.
  • Act as a digital transformation ambassador; develop technical expertise to help promote adoption of Salesforce CRM and digital tools.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications for customer events, driving attendance and measuring appropriate critical metrics.
  • Maintain marketing-centric digital tools for the business, including internal training, content administration and light technical administration in partnership with the Customer Experience development team; champion adoption across commercial teams.
  • Develop sales enablement materials to support successful customer engagements for the commercial teams. Ensure materials are relevant and aligned with bp’s global messaging and brand standards.


Essential Education


Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in marketing, communications or related field


Essential Experience & Job Requirements


  • Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Familiarity with North American regulatory and compliance considerations for email best-practices (CAN-SPAM, etc.)
  • Ability to translate complex information into digestible content
  • Exceptional communication skills with a history of using them to influence others: this includes verbal and written communications as well as marketing collateral
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud (CRM)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant marketing/communications experience, including marketing automation platforms (Marketing Cloud, DotDigital or similar)


Desirable Experience & Qualifications


  • Basic proficiency with HTML, CSS and Power BI
  • Graphic design/mastery of general design principles
  • Experience in a global, highly matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of sales enablement platforms (Highspot, Showpad, etc.)
  • Knowledge of agile methodology
