Position Summary:
The Laboratory Supervisor has operational responsibility to assure the processing of appropriate and quality patient diagnostics, tests and reporting of results for Laboratory Services at BayPLS. The supervisor is accountable to meet/establish standards of care through effective staffing, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of policies, procedures and objectives. In addition to the leadership and management skills needed to meet these responsibilities, this position must develop the quality programs, compliance programs, safety programs, and communications programs needed to demonstrate that the laboratory is meeting all of these requirements. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing new programs and services in a dynamic market that exceeds patient and community expectations. The supervisor works in collaboration with other departments, managers, administration, patients and other members of medical staff, administrative staff to meet strategic objectives.
Forensics Duties would include but are not limited to: dispatching calls as needed, occasionally taking calls in the SF/San Mateo area when no other coverage is available (limited to ?as needed?). Updating schedule, coordinating with QA for documentation and training of new staff.
Demonstrated increasing level of responsibility in management of multiple clinical service programs.Budgeting and financial planning experience that includes the utilization of productivity measurement tools, capital equipment allocation, reimbursement methods and physical space planning.Familiar with various approaches to patient diagnostic testing methods and the application of relevant clinical concepts.Prefer prior experience working in labor union environment, with an understanding of contractual issues.Knowledgeable about health care regulations, Clinical Standards of Practice, CLIA, TJC and federal, state and local requirements.Prior experience building physician partnerships in a multi-disciplinary environment.Program/service implementation and evaluation experience in a dynamic market.

3. Demonstrated experience in implementation of new outpatient services based on identified community needs.

Requirements:
Valid CPT License
Experience with making/sustaining department budget
Quality Control
CLIA inspections/certifications
2 years experience managing people and in a lab environment
Scheduling oversight
Client/Customer focused
Oversee Forensics during regular business hours and rotate manager on call weekends (24hrs Sat/Sun)
In San Bruno Office 8-5 with 1 hour lunch, on call during week is typical for this position
