Clinical Laboratory Scientist Iii

Location: San Francisco, CA

Schedule: Thursday - Monday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Performs specimen testing for clinical laboratory samples used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, typically occurring in a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Laboratory. May include DNA extraction and sequencing, preparing and evaluating test results and entering results into a clinical database. Maintains and troubleshoots instruments and equipment. Performs quality control on samples, testing procedures, and results. Complies with regulatory agency documentation and reporting requirements. Note: Requires a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Certification.

This role requires on-site work at our San Francisco location as well as ability to work overtime and off-schedule days as needed.

What you will do:

• Identify any issues that may adversely affect the quality of test results and reporting these to appropriate representatives to ensure prompt resolution
• Maintain strict standards of quality
• Other duties as assigned
• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results
• The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is responsible for the direct and constant supervision of clinical laboratory technicians at all times during the analytical phase
• The CLS is responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing, as directed by the current standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with quality control and quality assurance activities
• Perform high complexity diagnostic testing on patient specimens across various molecular assays and platforms (Including NGS)
• Participate in continued education credits

What you will bring:

• Requires Clinical Lab Scientist certification
• 5 years of related experience with the Bachelors degree, 3 years and a Masters degree, or a PHD without experience.
