JOB SUMMARY
As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) at RTHM, you will be responsible for performing complex immunoassay and/or mass spectrometry based laboratory procedures and tests. You will provide crucial data for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to support the operations of our advanced clinical laboratory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience using high Complexity lab systems, LCMS/MS systems or Chemistry Analyzers is a plus. Prior experience with ELISA and/or multiplex ELISA platforms is a plus.
- CA-CLS license Required.
- Ability to run Proficiency Testing, review and verify results.
- BS degree in Chemistry, Math, Biological Sciences or equivalent. MS degree is a plus.
- Demonstrate ability in paying attention to detail.
- Demonstrate knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the medical laboratory field, familiarity with medical laboratory terminology, lab information system, computer literacy and applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with laboratory management and other staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality laboratory services.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest advancements in clinical laboratory science.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of laboratory operations, including contributing to quality assurance and safety programs.
- Train and mentor laboratory technicians and other staff as needed.
- Perform immunoassay and/or mass spectrometry based testing, including sample preparation, analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state laboratory regulations, such as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results.
- Maintain the laboratory equipment, ensuring its proper operation and calibration, and arrange repairs when necessary.
- Evaluate the validity of data in relation to the test system and assay procedures. This includes quality control, calibration, and method validation.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably with experience in ELISA, multiplex immunoassay platforms, or mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
- Valid and current California CLS license is required.
- Proficiency in using laboratory information systems and other computer applications.
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and underlying principles.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or a doctorate is preferred.
