Copyeditor Jobs

We are working exclusively with our client to identify a Legal Copyeditor, preferably with J.D. qualifications, to join their team and play a critical role in managing the copy-editing process for the Benchbook Writing Team.

During this project, you will efficiently manage the scheduling of Benchbook Writing Team meetings, provide comprehensive oversight of timelines for project completion, facilitate the topic editor and peer review process, review copies of the final documents, and prepare print-ready copies for the printer.

Start Date: Mid-August

Duration: 6 to 7 months

Hours: 10 hours per week through October and then will increase to 20 hours per week; must be able to attend meetings during standard business hours but otherwise flexible working hours

Location: Virtual

Experience Required:

• Must have a solid understanding of Bluebook rules
• Previous experience working for legal publications or services
• Experience as a Copyeditor or a related role, such as a proofreader or content editor
• A background check may be required for the selected candidate
• A Juris Doctor, a Doctor of Jurisprudence, or a Doctor of Law is highly preferred
• Ability to multitask, drive project deliverables, and provide recommendations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

The pay range for this is $50.00 to $70.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
