Coordinator, The Heat Group Business Communications

The Miami HEAT is seeking a coachable individual with a strong work ethic to serve as our Business Communications Coordinator! The HEAT Group Business Communications Coordinator’s primary function is to provide administrative and public relations support to The HEAT Group Business Communications department and to assist with implementing and supervising communication strategies for all business initiatives of the Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center.
Roles & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.
Administrative Duties

• Coordinate the Outlook calendar for the department to include announcements, events, press releases, media advisories, key community events and the like.
• Responsible for the maintenance of all media contact lists.
• Draft and send all press releases and advisories for Business Operations initiatives.
• Keep the department on task and organized using Monday.com and other virtual platforms.
• Assist other department members as needed.
• Under the supervision of the Specialist, THGBC, is the primary user of media tracking platforms (Critical Mention, Cision and/or equivalent) for earned media (non-paid placements) for The HEAT Group and Kaseya Center.

PR Duties

• Conduct research on media opportunities and vet with Senior Director and Specialist, THGBC.
• Build a media recap after each event and distribute to all stakeholders.
• Participate in department meetings and pitch story ideas.
• Standardize reporting on all placements, campaigns.
• Coordinate media requests and follow ups.
• Assist with generating content and posts on the Miami HEAT LinkedIn page.
• Work with Social Responsibility department to build content for HEAT.com/community.
• Serve as a liaison to media outlets at select games and events.
• Primary media representative for HEATCheck Gaming, Jr. HEAT, Miami HEAT Dancers, and Golden Oldies.

Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or technical school. Very organized and detail-oriented. Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and Outlook. Use of Apple/Mac desktop/laptop preferable.
