Controller Position
Our client, a thriving media company based in Westchester, NY, is seeking an experienced and qualified Controller to join their dynamic team. With a rich history and a commitment to excellence, this media company offers a fantastic opportunity for a skilled financial professional to play a key role in their continued success. If you have a strong background in investments, management, and accounting oversight, we want to hear from you!
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our media company. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with investments, including treasury management, bonds, and fixed assets, as well as a strong background in management and overseeing an accounting department. A CPA is a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives.
- Participate in financial audits and work closely with auditors.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Mentor and develop finance and accounting team members.
- Monitor and manage the company's investments, including treasury management, bonds, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Manage and oversee the financial activities of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the media or entertainment industry finances a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is a plus.
- Strong background in investments, including treasury management, bonds, and fixed assets.
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Salary: $175k-$190k & Bonus
The above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity and other non-cash incentives.
