Contracts Specialist- Aerospace
Our client in the Engineering & Aerospace sector is seeking an energetic and organized individual to fill the newly created Contracts Specialist position.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent grammar, attention to detail, and will play a key role by helping to manage the contractual administrative oversight.
This person will also be responsible for interpreting key contract language, negotiating Agreements, and maintaining contracts in the contract management software tool.
You will have contracts experience of reading and understanding contract language.
Ideally you will have a paralegal and contract database management background.
Primary Responsibilities
· Oversee contract workflow process to ensure adequate internal controls, accurate, and efficient reporting of data
· Be the Subject Matter Expert for the Cobblestone Contract Management Database which includes maintaining the portal and uploading all executed contracts into the portal including adding key contract language, and running reports based on the contract uploads
· Manage preparation, redlining, and execution of contracts
· Assist in maintaining contract templates and preparing contracts such as NDAs, Sales Agreements, and Amendments
· Understanding of contract law, legal concepts, terms and conditions, legal requirements, negotiation process, and areas of risk for the company
· Experience with and be able to identify key contract language clauses that make up a contract
· Assist with analyzing and monitoring contracts to ensure compliance with company risk tolerance, regulations and FAR / DFAR
· Contribute to the development of systems and processes that facilitate improved contract administration
· Work closely with all business units to ensure contract compliance with internal procedures
· Ensure that all necessary files are maintained, complete, and easily accessible on SharePoint
· Ensure adherence to the company’s contract policies and procedures
· Provide guidance to business teams and operations regarding areas of risk, contractual language, and existing contractual obligations
· Eagerness to learn and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to learn new programs and processes
· Ability to prioritize and complete daily workload and projects with minimal supervision and in accordance with deadlines and shifting priorities
Educational Qualifications/Requirements:
· College Degree preferred (will accept experience in lieu of degree)
· Minimum five years of experience in contracts and compliance preferably at an aerospace company
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Desired Characteristics:
· Paralegal Certification a plus
· Working knowledge of Government regulation as they apply to contractual requirements
