Memorial Blood Centers (MBC.ORG), a division of Innovative Blood Resources (www.innovativebloodresources.org), has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948. We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood—from our community, for our community.
- Uses assertive communication to secure appointments
- Determines what is appropriate donation process with each call
- Maintains accurate donor files and fills out appropriate forms
- Calls appropriate donors based on inventory needs
- Recruiting for Automated Procedures
- Meets individual and team goals to complete a minimum number of appointments and dials per hour

- Understands minimum requirements for donor recruitment and donor deferral guidelines

- Recruiting for Whole Blood Donations
- Participates in programs to increase donor base. Includes cold calling to bring in new donors, lapsed donor and frequency campaigns
- Scheduling/ Canceling and rescheduling donor appointments
- Provide medical support across the enterprise and for the assigned blood center and transfusion services. The two MN based medical directors provide 24/7 coverage for the local children’s hospital and also the largest trauma hospital.
- Publishes articles, chapters, books, and lectures and gives presentations on a local, and national level.
- Provide medical consultation and recommendations on training, technique, and education needs.
- Perform cooperative translational and clinical research studies with the goal of obtaining funding (grant or corporate funding).
- Participate in medical student and postgraduate teaching activities.
- Participate in regional, national, and international societies dedicated to transfusion medicine, apheresis medicine and/or cellular therapies.
- Assures participation in quality assurance activities and optimal performance of assigned program and services including acting as CLIA lab director in multiple locations.
- Participates in the related hospital administrative and clinical activities as requested by hospitals, including transfusion and surgical (trauma) committees.
