CEO/ Executive Advisor – CFO/ Finance leader background

What You’ll Do

Advise growth stage companies thrive as part of a collaborative and entrepreneurial team.

As a Newport partner, you will help owners and boards of privately held, high potential, growth-stage companies increase business valuation as an independent board director, CEO advisor, or fractional member of the executive team. You will solve complex business challenges through leadership of strategic and operational initiatives focused on business growth, profitability, successful transactions, and family business planning.

As a “CFO Partner” utilize your functional expertise and skills, executive leadership and direction to provide strategic and operational consulting in areas which may include: Financial operations and policies, including strategic financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, accounting and finance practices, financial reporting, financial modeling, cost analysis, strategic procurement, and financial risk assessment; ensure timely, accurate preparation of financial statements.

What You Need

· Exceptional presence, business acumen and executive skills to guide activities at both strategic and ground levels, with successful assignments at the C-level (previous founder/owner experience a plus).

· Experience as a successful consultant and/or CEO advisor with exceptional listening skills and the ability to formulate and deliver distinctive insights and unique solutions to complex business challenges.

· Deep functional knowledge in finance within private industry, public companies, and c-suite management consulting.

· Sell-side M&A experience – preparing companies for exit, quarterbacking transaction processes, and providing post-merger integration. Comfort working with PE and other investor groups.

· Enthusiasm for and achievement in business development, including referral partner network development and client acquisition leveraging digital and social marketing channels.

· Track record of driving business impact through innovative and high-quality approaches, with a demonstrated commitment to creating enduring relationships and value.

· An active listener with high “EQ” who is open to new concepts and ideas, able to synthesize complex situations, provide clarity and illumination to others; and can facilitate and negotiate.

· Robust professional network of potential clients and referrals; existing book of business highly desirable.
