Chief Construction Engineer Jobs

Overview:What you will be doing:

• Maintains knowledge of Flatiron’s company values and strategic plan.
• Reviews personal and peer design elements to optimize project constructability, cost effectiveness and material quantities.
• Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
• Designs and drafts construction methods for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
• Identifies and develops training for specialized construction methods, as needed.
• Provides constructability and technical design input on temporary works construction designs to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Determines team preparedness over individual seal authority.
• Develops and implements department policies and procedures to promote internal consistency over temporary works construction designs.
• Support published corporate policies.
• Reviews high risk work and takes senior responsibility over constructability on high risk, complex or highly innovative design works.

What we are looking for:

• Proven success with creative, innovative and optimization strategies for construction challenges.
• Professional Engineer (PE or PENG) required.
• Clear, concise and efficient technical writing skills used in calculation packages.
• Expert skill at self-prioritization and time-management.
• Internal training Crane level I, II and III preferred.
• Proven knowledge of temporary works construction practices and constructability innovation techniques.
• Able and driven to mentor developing engineering team. Able to set clear expectations and support team to reach Company and departmental goals.
• Proven knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, LARSA and MathCAD required.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Proven interpersonal skills used to defend, clarify and explain construction strategies and designs for all levels of the Company.
• Able to delegate task to direct reports and teammates effectively to grow knowledge and team construction experience.
• Expert knowledge of construction methods and designs.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering field required.

Salary Min: USD $190,000.00/Yr. Salary Max: USD $225,000.00/Yr.
