The City of Peoria is hiring for a Community Parks Superintendent. The purpose of this position is to support the development and implementation of programs and to supervise all maintenance and safety operations of the City’s three Community Parks’ facilities and landscape areas. The individual hired for this position will:

• Select, train, supervise and evaluate staff.
• Work with businesses and vendors, monitor resources, manage schedules and construction projects; interpret data and documents, research trends, and develop goals and procedures
• Schedule and assign tasks, manage all expenditures
• Manage workflow processes to measure performance and efficiency outcomes.
• Consult with internal and external departments and agencies, manage safety concerns, and ensure City and department goals, policies and objectives are followed.
• Assist with managing open space and natural resources,
• Assist with complex problem situations, coordinate programs, oversee graffiti eradication and painting programs, resolve customer service issues, review plans, recommend projects, coordinate purchasing activities, maintain records, prepare and deliver presentations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of five years related experience. Requires a broad

knowledge of complex systems, specialized practices, maintenance equipment,
workflow systems and procedures.

• Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire
• Pesticide/Herbicide Applicators License within 6 months of hire.
• Backflow/Check Valve Certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements:
• Playground Safety Certification within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION(s):

• Three years supervisory experience
• Experience in a municipal or government setting
• Technical experience with geospatial inventories
