Groundskeeper Jobs

The Groundskeeper is responsible for landscape maintenance tasks for The Lawrenceville School and its related properties.

The position is considered essential personnel during snow removal, special events such as Graduation, Alumni Weekend and other events requiring off hours work.

• Use a variety of tools and machinery, including mowers and Weed Wackers, blowers, pruners, snow blowers, shovels, etc.
• Rake and bag or burn leaves
• Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup
• Shovel snow from walks and driveways
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Perform other duties as requested, which includes trash removal and Flex crew set up for events, etc
• Participate in all training meetings
• Communication and listening skills
• Plant grass and flowers
• Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
• Perform other duties as requested
• This position is considered Essential Personnel and must be available during emergency situations when required. Essential personnel is required to be available for Snow Removal, Setups for Graduation, Alumni Weekend, Trash removal, etc.
• Clean out drainage ditches and culverts
• Must work in inclement weather and at off-hours
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
• Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides
• Valid Driver’s license
• Cut lawns, trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls. Water lawns and shrubs
