Our client, a leader in manufacturing and exporting roofing materials around the globe, has a rare opportunity for a Production Superintendent to join their team in Kankakee, IL.
As the Production Superintendent you will ensure the production of products that exceeds customer expectations in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. You will lead and coach Production Operators to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives
This is a strategic level position focusing on production and leadership.

What You'll Do On The Job

• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost
• Partner with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure that finished product meet all customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system
• Provide leadership and support to the overall reliability strategy including the involvement of production employees in TPM
• Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen events working directly with the production and maintenance teams
• Assure employee training (quality, safety, process, etc.) is effective and completed

What You Will Need

• Excellent communication skills (being bilingual is a plus)
• Strong planning, analytical and troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing others in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing
• Preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineer degree or relevant technical experience (Experience in engineering is a plus!)
