Job Summary:

The Park Attendant is responsible for providing customer service to visitors and campers in the campground. This includes collecting user fees, managing camping reservations, maintaining order and cleanliness in the fee booth. The Park Attendant operates government-furnished computer hardware and software to operate the campground efficiently and effectively. Professional conduct is required when performing the tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Record sites taken and maintain a permanent record of the current status of sites occupied and the length of stay using R1S.
• Maintain order of the fee booth, including ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
• Safeguard fees and property by properly securing and safeguarding all records and property.
• Create a computer-generated report for each shift to account for all transactions.
• Report any attempts by visitors to circumvent payment of appropriate fees to Far Group Project Manager.
• Follow refund application process outlined in the R1S knowledge base articles when initiating a request for refund.
• Sell and issue America the Beautiful (AtB) Passes and Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Passes.
• Close, reconcile, and balance R1S financial shift after the end of fee booth operation hours each day.
• Create a deposit using the R1S system at the end of the work week, shift for the week and create a computer-generated report for the deposit.
• Process reservation requests for campsites and other reservable facilities in the R1S inventory.
• Collect user fees using Recreation One Stop (R1S) system.
• Verify that credit card receipts on hand match the amounts shown on the shift report.
• Accept payment for reservations and Point-of-Sale (POS) items in the form of credit or debit card transactions or Rend Lake Camping Vouchers.

Requirements:

• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to operate computer hardware and software.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
