Our roadmap begins with products 100x better than GPUs and will ultimately deliver products that are many orders of magnitude more cost effective than what is available today. We will ultimately be able to put models the size of ChatGPT into chips the size of a thumbnail.

About the role:

There has never been a more exciting time to work in artificial intelligence. Rain is a Series A startup seeking to dramatically reduce the cost of AI. We are a growing multidisciplinary team seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Communications Lead to build our core communications functions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about better telling our story to the AI world and beyond. You will be the very first communications hire at Rain, an amazing opportunity to grow into leadership as Rain grows.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the executive team to identify communication priorities and develop key messaging that supports Rain's objectives
• Build and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, journalists, and partners to facilitate positive coverage and increase visibility
• Develop and institute communications protocols, best practices, and processes.
• Manage and maintain Rain’s online presence, including website content, social media channels, and blog posts
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our company's mission, vision, and strategic objectives
• Oversee all aspects of public relations and media relations, including crafting press releases, managing media inquiries, and securing strategic media placements to raise Rain’s profiling as a leading AI company
• Coordinate and manage speaking engagements, conference appearances, and other public events to showcase our company's thought leadership
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant news to inform and adjust communication strategies as needed

Qualifications:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong media relations experience, including established relationships with relevant journalists and influencers
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies
• Passional for AI, technology, and innovation
• At least 5+ years of experience in communications or public relations, with a focus on technology
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a start-up environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with public speaking and representing a company externally
• Work experience in the AI industry or with AI products

The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the United States is $150,000 to $250,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
