We are looking for a passionate college or masters- degree student to intern with our highly collaborative Data & Analytics team! The successful candidate will join our group for 12 weeks this summer and have the opportunity to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
As a Data analyst you will be conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. You will also be involved with developing analysis and reporting capabilities, while monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
What you'll be doing:
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Assist in the implementation of new software
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
Who you are:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) a plus
