Job Description
Air Systems Engineering is currently seeking a COMMERCIAL HVAC SERVICE PROJECT SALESPERSON. This individual is responsible for providing comfort solutions for building owners, with a focus on aggressively growing the service projects business of Air Systems Engineering, Inc. by developing relationships, following up sales leads, generating quotes, and obtaining orders from customers. The person will market our full-service offerings, while focusing sales on large projects with new and existing customers.
Outside of customer site visits, this is an in-office position (NOT REMOTE). Candidate must live within a reasonable commute distance to our office in Tacoma, WA.
POSITION REPORTS TO: Service Projects Manager/General Manager
WAGE/SALARY RANGE: $85,000 to $130,000 per year
JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)
  • Serves customers by answering inquiries, responding to special requests, and communicating order changes
  • Consistently ascertains customer needs and current market opportunities
  • Maintains records of sales, customer information, and requests by updating the database
  • Assures customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and staff as needed
  • Identify, target, and capture new opportunities resulting in service project sales
  • Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for the customer’s problems, including financial and performance-based considerations
  • Interfaces with existing customers to identify opportunities to profitably grow our replacement and retrofit business
  • Responds to customers by identifying needs, generating quotes, and closing orders
  • Consolidates and references information by collecting, organizing, and assembling data for reports, presentations, and special projects
  • Works closely as a team member with other parts of the business
  • Develops multiple relationships with buying influences in the customer’s organization, including facility manager, project managers, project engineers, and purchasing
  • Develops sales plan and generates successful sales with core customers
  • Communicates customer perceptions by gathering customer feedback and sharing information with management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in commercial/industrial HVAC project sales
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) from four-year college or university preferred

  • This position works in a typical office environment with visits to other offices, plants, and job sites. Frequent outdoor travel is required to visit customers.
During visits to job sites, the employee is occasionally exposed to:
