Job Description
As part of the Siemens Cloud Operations organization, this position makes significant contributions towards the delivery of DevOps solutions that support best-in-class cloud-based applications. As a Solution Architect you will have key responsibilities in leading the team in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS knowledge to ensure all products meet the on-demand and self-serve requirements many products have today.

In this role you will guide Siemens internal teams on their cloud adoption journey. You are an expert in cloud technologies and state-of-the-art continuous deployment methodologies. Apply your know-how in building relationships, analyzing existing application architecture to create and execute adoption plans. You will be the implementation evangelist for the internal deployment and hosting platform and help us build the next generation of SaaS products.

Responsible for surpassing customer expectations to achieve high quality, innovative solutions that are delivered on-time. Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator. Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements. Works with some supervision on the most complex projects and desires to obtain complete latitude for independent judgment. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Is well versed in customer contact, engaging and handling customer requirements as well as escalations. Is ready for high frequency of global travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Travel to global Siemens locations for in-person consulting meetings
  • Design transformation strategies for lift and shift to Kubernetes based cloud deployments
  • Resolve implementation questions
  • Keep up to date with the internal platform features
  • Answer architecture request tickets
  • Guide teams on their transformation journey and teach them how to use platform features
  • Define cloud platform adoption designs with internal teams
  • Maintain demo source code and tutorial documents
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • AWS architecture certification
  • Networking concepts, including firewalls, VPN, routing, load balancers, security and DNS
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and GITOps methodologies
  • Proven CI/CD pipeline design and deployments successes (Artifactory, Harbor, SonarQube)
  • Senior level knowledge of Kubernetes and Kubernetes based application hosting
  • 5+ years experience with open source tools (Linux, Python, Git, Ansible)
  • High global travel readiness (possibly >50%)
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3+ years of IT experience or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience working with IT security and strong grasp of IT security concepts
  • 5+ years in cloud architecture and designing API based enterprise cloud applications
  • 5+ years experience with GITLab and GITLab CI pipelines
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Kubernetes Certified System Administrator
  • CPSA-F/-A certifications
  • AWS and Azure Sr. architecture certifications

The salary range for this position is $95,800 to $172,400 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
