Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator

The UAB Department of Nutrition Sciences is seeking a nurse to help with exciting research on intermittent fasting. Come join a great team that is doing world-class research! The coordinator will help manage clinical trials testing whether intermittent fasting can help people with type 2 diabetes and cancer.

The right candidate will be efficient and able to get a lot done, be good at paying attention to details, be enthusiastic about improving people’s health, be a people-person, get participants excited about participating in the studies, and have a positive proactive mindset.

The nurses may perform the following duties and responsibilities

• Perform measurements and check the accuracy of study data.
• Draw blood specimens.
• Measure vital signs and measure weight, height, etc.
• Administer questionnaires.
• Provide education to participants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform testing visits and collect study data.
• Coordinate and organize participant schedules and study-related visits.
• May be required to start IVs (ask at the interview)
• Perform other measurements.
• Extract patient medical history information from the medical record.
• Collect, store, and manage study data and databases.
• Get participants excited about participating in the study.
• Recruit, screen, consent, and enroll participants.
• Apply study equipment to measure physical activity, sleep, and light exposure

Salary

Commensurate upon experience.

Requirements

Must have a nursing degree.
