Clinical Research Coordinator
- (3238317)GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
We are a research program focusing on mapping the neural bases underlying autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders, including, recently, misophonia. We are seeking a research coordinator with excellent interpersonal skills. The research program involves brain imaging (MRI, MEG, EEG), as well as neurocognitive phenotyping.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with a psychology, neuroscience, Applied Behavior Analysis, ASD aide, or teaching background looking to pursue a career in clinical psychology, ASD research, medical school, or similar fields, to obtain real world research experience in an immersive research environment that can serve as a launch pad for many career paths.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) General coordination of ongoing research, both administrative and research participant centered
(2) Coordinate and schedule visits for research participants
(3) Lead the recruitment of participants, including enhancement and planning of recruitment strategies
(4) Performs neurocognitive assessments and interviews, with children and adults, both off and on the autism spectrum
(5) Provides behavioral support to participants during testing, MRI, and MEG visits
(6) Assists with MRI and MEG data acquisition
(7) Maintains database (RedCap), tracking sheets, and lab calendars
(8) Maintains website and maintain and generate recruiting materials
(9) Maintain compliance with IRB protocols (institutional review board at MGH).
(10) Other ancillary and administrative duties related to the ongoing research in the lab, such as reimbursements, purchases, social media lab presence, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields required.
Preferred:
- Experience with the ADOS assessment of ASD.
- Experience with Excel, and Microsoft office more generally
- Research coordination experience via internship or otherwise.
- Experience working with individuals with ASD.
- Experience with administering psychological assessments.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Careful attention to detail
- Ability to be playful and to engage children or adults with ASD flexibly at developmentally appropriate levels
- Flexibility in work hours scheduling, since this position does occasionally require work during some evenings and weekends
- Patience and the ability to quickly adapt to emerging behavioral situations is fundamental
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Outstanding telephone and oral / written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Computer literacy including Word, Excel, required (additional training for Excel is available). Experience with database (e.g. RedCap) is useful but is not necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Desk in shared office or cubicle space.
- Primary job location is at CNY149 in the Charlestown Navy Yard MGH, with some remote work possible.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- None for FTEs
- Supervising of undergraduate interns is possible.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Expense tracking for subject reimbursements and expenses related lab supplies, but no independent fiscal responsibility.
