Job Description

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will perform independently or with general direction at the fully operational journey level of the series to execute, manage, and coordinate research protocols, as directed by the Program Director, Program Manager, and Associate Program Director of Research & Evaluation for the UCSF CAPP Program.
The CRC's duties may include, but will not be limited to
1) Creating, cleaning, updating, and managing CAPP consultation databases, datasets and reports
2) Performing participant recruitment, consenting, enrollment and retention, and reimbursement for CAPP research and evaluation activities
3) Performing data collection and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) for CAPP research and evaluation activities
4) Managing CAPP study protocols in the UCSF IRB online system, as well as renewals and modifications of protocol applications and the implementation of new study protocols
5) Preparing reports for grant funders, and any other necessary administrative paperwork related to CAPP research projects including presentation, manuscript, and grant preparation
6) Coordinating staff work schedules/ assist Director of Research & Evaluation and/or PI with oversight of other research staff. The home location of the incumbent will be fully remote.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

The UCSF Benioff Children Hospital’s Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Portal is aimed at expanding pediatric primary care providers' (PCPs) knowledge, skills and confidence in mental health screening, diagnosis, and treatment, in order to better address and improve access to behavioral health treatment in our communities. CAPP child & adolescent psychiatrists provide real-time, direct-connect consultation and case-specific guidance to pediatric PCPs on screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and access to resources and referrals. CAPP also offers continuing medical education programming events for PCPs, in order to establish trusting relationships with consulting faculty, and to improve their knowledge and skills in managing pediatric mental health conditions, as well as website resources. Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating meetings.
  • Ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.
  • Experience conducting statistical analyses and writing up research findings using SPSS, SAS, R, or a comparable statistical software package.
  • HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities or equivalent combination of experience/training
  • Project coordination or management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in the planning and coordinating of a complex project with tasks, timelines, resources, and budget.
  • Proven flexibility to adjust to constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple and varied groups of stakeholders, community partners and peers in order to obtain information, inform, and gain consensus.
  • Experience conducting qualitative analysis and writing up research findings using Atlas.ti, Nvivo, or a comparable software package.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects, team members, other departments and outside institutions; and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse subject population.
  • Computer literate, fluent with software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing skills; experience in grant writing and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past quantitative and/or qualitative research experience strongly preferred. Experience using REDCap, statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA, or R, and qualitative software such as Atlas.ti preferred.
  • Ability to use data visualization software such as Tableau.
  • Six months to one-year related experience.
  • Associate’s degree and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Fluency in the usage of UCSF IRB online system for submission, renewal, and modification of protocols through this system.
  • Interest in pediatric mental health preferred.
  • Ability to use qualitative data analysis software such as Atlas.ti
  • Ability to abstract data from medical records and databases like REDCap and Qualtrics, and transfer it to statistical software packages like SPSS, STATA, SAS or R.
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, health services research, or a related field.
