Clinical Research Assistant I

Job Summary
BCH's Pulmonary Research group serves as the Study Management Core for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Success with Therapies Research Consortium (STRC). The STRC is a multi-center effort of academic research institutions that facilitates the clinical study of interventions to improve day-to-day adherence and cystic fibrosis (CF) disease self-management to optimize health outcomes and quality of life. STRC investigators have diverse backgrounds in medicine, psychology, clinical research, and health economics and they represent adult and pediatric CF programs throughout the United States. The STRC conducts behavioral studies and qualitative research to identify new tools and practices to help care teams partner with people with CF to more effectively manage their disease.
We are looking for an energetic, highly organized Clinical Research Assistant to focus on the administrative responsibilities necessary for our group to successfully conduct qualitative research and social and behavioral interventions aimed at improving outcomes and quality of life for patients with Cystic Fibrosis.
The Research Assistant I will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the development of internal and external SOPs and study MOPs;
• Participating in the development of study manuals and other study-related documents;
• Soliciting agenda items for meetings and calls;
• Assisting in the organization of internal weekly meetings of the BCH study team;
• Managing the existing call schedule for regularly scheduled calls with the collaborating study teams;
• Assisting the Research Coordinators in tracking regulatory and training documentation;
• Assisting collaborators and investigators in the procurement of external information or documentation as needed;
• Working alongside Investigators and collaborators to assist in the start-up and conduct of studies;
• Performing other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned or requested.
• Assisting the Research Coordinators with IRB applications, preparing amendments and continuing reviews for each study and for each participating site;
• Assisting in the development of slide decks for STRC-wide or external presentations
• Taking notes, writing up minutes, maintaining a repository of agendas and minutes on the Microsoft Teams study pages;
• Preparing, ordering and/or shipping study supplies as needed;
• Facilitating the scheduling and organizing of calls with Investigators, Research Coordinators and Vendors as needed;

To qualify, you must have:

• One year of relevant work experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex.
• Well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to patients, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions.
• Advanced writing skills.
