Job Description
Overview
JOB SUMMARY
Process claims in accordance with investor and agency requirements on a timely fashion.
Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and research on claims filed
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Prepare files for internal and external audits
  • Maintain clear records and reports for management review regarding claims filed and non-recoverable items
  • Present all claims prepared for filing to the Default supervisor for quality review
  • Miscellaneous research, filing and mailing
  • Make payment decisions and complete system tasks for Tax and Insurance approvals daily as needed
  • Draft written correspondence to agencies, officers, vendors and clients as needed
  • Prepare claims (or supplemental claims) on all agency acquired properties or investor acquired properties that have Mortgage Insurance within 20 days of the sale or completion of short sale/deed in lieu
  • Update appropriate workstations for claim filings
  • Follow up and track payment of filed claims
  • Prepare claims for Loss Mitigation Incentives
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of accepted business practices in the mortgage industry and or strong understanding of claims process
  • Working knowledge of claims processing required
  • LPS-MSP (Mortgage Servicing Platform) experience preferable, but not necessary
  • Good analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in the legal field or default mortgage servicing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office- Excel and Word
  • 2 Years job-related course work or paralegal studies
WORK CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Ability to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and to work early, late or weekend hours as needed for successful job performance. Over time required as necessary.
