JCW is currently recruiting on behalf of a well known small business insurance company who are looking to add a Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) Claims Examiner handling various professions such as accountants, real estate agents, security services, consultants, actuaries, insurance agents, etc.

Responsibilities:

• The role involves driving litigation by managing the deployment and utilization of defense counsel and identifying suspected fraudulent claims.
• The Senior Claims Examiner is responsible for adjudicating assigned claims, including the resolution of moderate to complex claims throughout the litigation process.
• Participation in Claims Projects, reserving roundtables, and pre-trial roundtables is required.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, an active insurance adjuster's license, and preferably a B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited college or university are desired.
• Minimum of 6 years of claims handling experience, advanced knowledge of claims analysis, and in-depth understanding of standards for claims documentation and legal filings.
• Proven ability to actively negotiate settlements for moderate to complex claims, experience in mentoring and training other claim professionals, and advanced analytical skills.

Additionally:

• Subject matter expertise, experience in mediation, arbitration, or trial attendance, a proactive attitude with the ability to work independently within authority levels, and the ability to identify and suggest improvements to claim department processes.
• Pursuit of additional certifications such as CPCU, ARMS, or AINS designation is also valued.
